At Cheryl Jefferson & Associates, our values guide us in how we conduct business. Values dictate the relationships we have with our clients, the relationships our team members have with each other, and our commitment to having a reputation that provides a positive outcome.


Compliance with professional standards

To ensure we are adhering to the latest professional standards, we keep our library up to date with the latest releases and our staff stays abreast of changes with continuing education and technical reading.  We have a well developed set of quality control policies and procedures that are communicated to all staff, both professional and administrative.  In addition, we are peer reviewed every 3 years by an independent CPA firm.


Keen interest in our clients

Even in the world of internet and virtual access, we still take a keen interest in our clients' business and how they operate.  From time to time, professional staff will visit client facilities to see how business is really run in the trenches or chat with clients to see how business is doing and to inquire about strategic plans.


Technology-Driven
We utilize the latest accounting technology to increase efficiency and reduce errors.  With the extra time saved, we can focus on the value-added services that are important to our clients. 


Security of financial data

We treat our clients' data and records as if they were our own personal financial information.  We secure all documents and shred all unnecessary or redundant client information.  We run daily backups, keep copies offsite, as well as verify the data on a monthly basis.  We also have a retention policy that ensures data is kept for the period dictated by law, Federal or state statutes.


Reducing our impact on the environment

We are a paper-less firm.  We utilize a secured client portal for the transfer of client files and information.  While we do get faxes and mail from time to time, our response is to quickly convert paper to electronic format and either shred or return the documents back to the client.


Diversity in the workplace

Diversity provides our firm with different backgrounds, experiences, thoughts and ideas.  This allows each staff member to bring something different to each engagement thus improving the quality of our services.  This benefits our clients in that they get fresh ideas, alternative perspectives and well-though out recommendations for improving their accounting functions and their business.  


Team-driven focus

Our staff exemplifies teamwork.  Multiple staff are responsible for each client.  Meeting deadlines sometimes requires that each team member does their part AND assist each other. Our office structure and work ethics encourage staff to assist each other, whether the client is assigned to them or not.
